Shakespeare Not Stirred

In Shakespeare, Not Stirred, Caroline Bicks and co-author Michelle Ephraim mix equal parts booze and Bard to help us all through our everyday dramas. It’s like having Shakespeare right here with us, downing a great drink and lending perspective as only he can.

Take a pause from your holiday bustle and join Caroline Bicks & Compass Rose Books on Saturday, December 21st, for an evening of great literature, great cocktails and great conversation!

Caroline Bicks is a Professor of English and Stephen E. King Chair in Literature at the University of Maine. She has published widely on Shakespeare, gender studies, and the history of science. Her creative nonfiction has appeared in the "Modern Love" column of the New York Times, on NPR's "All Things Considered," and in the show and book Afterbirth: Stories You Won't Read in a Parenting Magazine.

Shakespeare, Not Stirred has been featured on NPR's "Here and Now" and "Good Food with Evan Kleiman," in the Boston Globe, The Guardian, and The Wall Street Journal, and was named the best book of 2015 by The Australian.
